What is the City Clerk?
The City Clerk is the person responsible for the legislative operations in the City and is accountable to the Elba City Council, Mayor and the citizens.
The Office of the City Clerk:
The City Clerk attends all City Council and Water and Electric Board meetings. All ordinances and resolutions are processed through this office and kept as permanent records in the municipal library. The municipal code is updated throughout the year by ordinances that amend the code. The Clerk is the custodian of books, records, and papers of the City of Elba. The City Clerk is appointed by the Mayor.
